The National Theatre of London continues its season with its acclaimed new production of “The Lehman Trilogy” showing in Sedona on Sunday, Aug. 11 at 2 p.m. The Sedona International Film Festival hosts the big screen premiere at its Mary D. Fisher Theatre. “The Lehman Trilogy” is the story of a family and a company that changed the world, told in three parts on a single evening. Academy Award-winner Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Skyfall) directs Simon Russell Beale, Adam Godley and Ben Miles. Admission: $15 general admission; $12.50 film festival members. Time: 2:00 PM. Contract Ratio:  41.40. The average over the last year is 34.00. 
The Average Price per Square Foot of homes that are Under Contract was $285.83 per square foot. The yearly moving average is $317.36 per square foot. For those homes that Closed Escrow this week, the yearly moving average was $277.31 per square foot.
The yields on US Treasuries fell dramatically during the week. The yield on the 2-year was around 1.65%; the 5-yer around 1.58%; the 10-year around 1.75%, and the 30-year 2.26%. Commentators concentrated on concerns about an economic slowdown and the continuing dispute between the US and China.
The same concerns about the economic situation saw the Stock markets retreat. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed the week at 26,287.44; The S&P 500  at 2,918.65, and The Nasdaq Composite at 7,959.14.
Falling interest rates and Treasury yields translated into the average rate for a 30-year fixed mortgage fallening below 4%. According to the Mortgage Bankers Association, while there was a slight increase in home purchases, refinancing was the main focus. Applications to refinance were up 116% this week compared with a year ago.
